Lufthansa Systems Poland moves to ALCHEMIA

Polish branch of Lufthansa Systems has just leased nearly 5,000 sqm of office space in Argon – third phase of the Alchemia mixed-use complex in Gdańsk. The company will relocate from another office building in the city, wanting to secure options for further expansion within the highest workplace standards. Lufthansa Systems Poland was, during negotiations, represented by CBRE.

A desired quality

Lufthansa Systems, with headquarters in Frankfurt am Main (Raunheim), offers over 300 airline customers an extensive range of successful and, in many cases, market-leading products for the aviation industry. Its Polish branch has been present in Gdańsk since 1998 and currently employs more than 550 specialists mainly from IT and aeronautical fields. Lufthansa Systems Poland is also a recognized supplier of software solutions for logistics and financial sectors. The move to the new offices in Alchemia reflects the company’s further development plans; satisfying highly technical requirements (i.e. energy safety or data security), functional needs and enhancing the broadly understood comfort of work environment.

- Relocating the Polish headquarters is the next important step in the company’s development, which is characterised by dynamic growth and introduction of new advanced services and business competences. We want to provide our specialists with the highest comfort of work and optimal conditions for their development. The new offices in Alchemia will enable us to create a modern, diverse and inspiring workplace. We care about improving communication processes and knowledge sharing – both locally in Gdańsk and globally within the worldwide network of cooperating units – says Dr. Ireneusz Zalewski - President of the Management Board of Lufthansa Systems Poland.

- We are delighted that Lufthansa Systems Poland has chosen Alchemia for its new HQ. We truly believe that the technical standards, infrastructure and location of the Argon building will fully secure the Client’s needs and will contribute to their further dynamic growth in Gdańsk. This transaction confirms our building’s quality, sending an important signal to the market at the same time. It shows clearly that companies are paying more and more attention to workplace standards or infrastructure certainty and that they are willing to invest in it. – summarises Mr. Sławomir Gajewski – President of the Management Board of Torus, developer of the Alchemia project.

- We have analysed, very thoroughly, several building options in Tricity for our client. While choosing the new office we searched for comfort and security in the workplace. We paid special attention to air conditioning and ventilation issues, natural light access and lighting of workstations, as well as amenities for bicycle riders. Finally, we chose the option which, within the business complex of Alchemia, has achieved the highest green pre-certification level - LEED Platinum - and is equipped with a fully glazed facade with a clearance height of 3 metres, advanced climate control systems and DALI lighting. – adds Mariusz Wiśniewski, Senior Associate Director of CBRE.

The next element

Argon is the most prominent building of the Alchemia complex, located at the junction of al. Grunwaldzka (the main arterial road of Tricity) and ul. Kołobrzeska. It has 14 floors and a horizontal shape of the letter ‘H’. Its total GLA will amount to approx. 39,000 sqm, with typical office floor NLA of nearly 3,000 sqm. Its distinguishing feature will be a beautiful convenience centre with vegetation and minor landscaping - connecting the train station tunnel with the main road - and its ‘lighthouse’ build -the corner of the building devoid of glazing bars. Completion is scheduled for September 2017. Lufthansa Systems Poland will be one of the very first tenants to move to their new offices in that month.

The Alchemia complex, apart from high class offices, is characterised by its excellent location in the centre of the Tricity agglomeration and very convenient access to public transport, i.e. direct access to the SKM train station - Gdańsk Przymorze-Uniwersytet, bicycle paths, bus stops (and nearby tram stops) and a wide range of amenities. The complex features the largest sport and recreation facility in Tricity and a canteen, and the third phase of Alchemia will deliver several retail services.

Currently, the developer is planning the next, fourth, phase of the project.
